•March 3, 2008 • 1 CommentThis picture is abuot a girl who did something bad in her past. She is part monster because there is a past part of her that is not so pretty that she has hidden. Her eyes are black representing remorse and the avoidance of intimacy because she does not want to get close to anyone. She has blood dripping on the side of her mouth representing a bitter confrontation with a loved one, the past actions that are coming back to haunt her. But now, in the present, she has become something different, something better. The dove on her finger represents loyalty and friendship. She highly values the love of her friends. Staying above the water represents control over her emotions and faith in herself. The mistake she made in the past has made her stronger and less vulnerable/emotional although the soft, silk, emotions swirl around her trying to break her down, they can’t. The white dress represents new, clean, innocence. She is getting better. The light coming out of the dark in the background represents a light that is shedding understanding in the darkness, it represents God who has helped her become something different that what she was in the past. Something she needs to learn to let go of. For the lighting I wanted to use natural sunlight because it never turns out yellow like house lights and it would be more luminous to really represent that she is becoming something better than what she was.
